Michael Jordan's Sneakers From 1997 Eastern Conference Finals Up for Auction

Before the Flu Game and another championship-clinching performance, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls ran through the Miami Heat in the 1997 Eastern Conference Finals, winning the series in 5 games. After the Bulls took a commanding 2-0 series lead, Jordan went off for 34 points and 8 rebounds in a 98-74 Game 3 victory, setting the team up for a trip back to the NBA Finals. According to WFLD-TV Chicago segment producer Christine Koenig, these are the Air Jordans he wore in that game.

Grey Flannel Auctions is auctioning off the Air Jordan 12s, which were gifted to Koenig by Bulls equipment manager John Ligmanowski following an interview. Bidding for the size 13 opened at $2,500, with an expected end date of Dec. 20.

Nearly three weeks after Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Jordan gutted through Game 6 of the Finals with the flu. He wore the exact same colorway of the Jordan 12, hence the "Flu Game" nickname.
