Under Armour Hooks UMBC Up With Sold Out Curry Sneakers

By

Just like that, the UMBC Retrievers' historic Cinderella run has come to an end, but not before the Under Armour-sponsored team got hooked up with Stephen Curry's latest.

Ahead of yesterday's second round loss to Kansas State, the UMBC men's team took to Twitter to show off a shipment of "Pi Day" Curry 5s for the whole team.

The Retrievers made history Friday by ousting the Virginia Cavaliers, making UMBC the first No. 16 seed team to defeat a No. 1 seed in the men's college basketball tournament.

Under Armour released the "Pi Day" sneakers Thursday in celebration of Curry's birthday. The shoes, which retail for $130, sold out that night, but will be restocked April 14.
