Release Roundup: Sneakers You Need to Check Out This Weekend

A classic returning for the holiday season, the latest collaboration from Virgil Abloh, and a trio of Adidas Yeezy models highlight this week of sneaker releases.

Drops start early this week with The Hundreds releasing its Puma Clyde collab on Monday morning. Nike follows up with a colorful pair of its own on Tuesday, bringing back the "Viotech" Dunk Low from the vault. Nike continues its week of releases on Thursday with the "Racer Blue" Adapt Huarache and trio of Waffle Racer collabs with Off-White. The Adidas Yeezy Boost 380 also hits select retailers this Thursday in its debut "Alien" colorway. 

The releases conclude on Saturday with the "Persian Rug" End. Clothing x New Balance 997, "Yeezreel" Yeezy Boost 250 V2, and "Bred" Air Jordan 11. Completing the Yeezy trifecta is the "Slate" 500 High, which debuts next Monday.

The Hundreds x Puma Clyde

What You Need to Know: The Hundreds has released its own version of the Puma Clyde. The multi-colored pair features four mismatched side panels—each one representing a different era from the Clyde's long history as one of the brand's most popular silhouettes. The Hundreds logo hits can be seen on each lateral heel, tongue, and insole. 

Nike Dunk Low 'Viotech'

What You Need to Know: Nike is bringing back the "Viotech" Dunk Low once again this Tuesday. The popular multi-colored design has seen a handful of retro releases since its original Japan-exclusive launch back in 2001. Six years have passed since the last time this colorway hit shelves, so if you want a fresh pair to add to your collection this is your chance. 

Nike Adapt Huarache 'Racer Blue'

When: Thursday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Another colorway of Nike's futuristic Adapt Huarache arrives this Thursday. This time around, the auto-lacing low-top is dressed in a black upper with bright Racer Blue and yellow accents. Like all of Nike's Adapt products, wearers will be able to adjust the fit of their pair via the Adapt app.

Off-White x Nike Waffle Racer Collection

When: Thursday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: Three more track and field-inspired designs are on the way from Virgil Abloh. This time, the canvas of choice is the Waffle Racer, which as been modified by Abloh in his signature deconstructed look with foamy mesh used across the upper. Other details that have become common across the "Athlete in Progress" range also make an appearance like a medial branding stamp, unconventional lacing setup, and rubber track spikes. Three colorways will be up for grabs this Thursday. 

Adidas Yeezy Boost 380 'Alien'

When: Thursday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m.

What You Need to Know: After some initial confusion surrounding their launch, the brand new "Alien" Yeezy Boost 380 is finally debuting at retailers this Thursday. The pair is similar to the 350 V2, but features new details like a higher-cut upper, new Primeknit pattern, and new midsole shape. 

End x New Balance 997 'Persian Rug'

What You Need to Know: End Clothing's latest collaboration is a special colorway of the New Balance 997. The "Persian Rug" 997 features a mesh, leather, and suede upper mixing burgundy, navy blue, and tan to represent the luxurious rugs that inspire them. Patterns traditionally used on Persian rugs cover each insole, as well as the packaging. Being that these are a Made in U.S.A pair, expect a high quality pair of sneakers for the price point as well. 

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 'Yeezreel'

What You Need to Know: Another vibrant colorway of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 is dropping this weekend. Dubbed the "Yeezreel" color scheme, the pair is dressed in neon green with a black pattern covered the upper and translucent side stripe.

Air Jordan 11 'Black/Red'

What You Need to Know: One of the most beloved Air Jordans returns this week: the "Bred" Air Jordan 11. True to tradition, Jordan Brand is bringing back the 11 for the holiday season, this time in the iconic black and red makeup. Purists will appreciate the OG detailing that was absent from the last retro release including "Nike Air" printed on the insoles and the OG box design. Even though Jordan Brand makes literally millions of pairs of these nowadays, these will still have no problem selling out and finding their way under many Christmas trees in a couple of weeks. 

Adidas Yeezy 500 High 'Slate'

What You Need to Know: Finishing off the busy week from the Yeezy brand is the debut of the 500 High. Like the most recent Yeezy 500 release, this high-top option features neoprene panels in place of the usual mesh detailing. Slate grey suede and neoprene make up the upper, which sits atop a podular white midsole.
