Release Roundup: Sneakers You Need to Check Out This Weekend

By

This week of sneaker releases boasts new collaborations from Puma and Nike, PE-inspired Air Jordan and Nike LeBron releases, and more.

Drops start on Wednesday with the "Infrared 23" Air Jordan 34. This bright basketball sneaker is followed up by the much more subtle Supreme x Nike Air Force 1, a vibrant "Multi-Color" Air Jordan 2, and "Sunset" New Balance collection on Thursday. On Friday, Nike continues its run of LeBron 7 retros with a Fairfax High School PE colorway from 2009 that has never been released at retail before.

The releases wrap up on Saturday with the second Rhude x Puma collection accompanied by matching apparel and the "UNC" Air Jordan 3 inspired by a PE gifted to the university's football team back in 2017.

Check out a more detailed look at all of this week's biggest sneaker drops below.

Supreme x Nike Air Force 1

Price: $96

What You Need to Know: Supreme's latest Nike collaboration is a simplistic take on the iconic Air Force 1. Black and white versions will release stamped with the recognizable red Box Logo on the lateral heel. Extra sets of Supreme-branded laces can also be swapped in for those who want to show off even more branding. The streetwear brand has stated that these pair will be restocked regularly similar to their Hanes T-shirts or boxer briefs.

Air Jordan 2 'Multi-Color'

Where: Nike SNKRS and other select retailers
What You Need to Know: Seemingly out of nowhere, Jordan Brand is releasing an mismatched colorway of the Air Jordan 2. The multi-colored pair mixes various bright shades and materials. The "What The"-esque look is said to be a callback to various colorways of MJ's second signature model that have released in the past.

New Balance 'Sunset' Pack

Price: TBD
When: Thursday, March 5
Where: newbalance.com and other select retailers
What You Need to Know: New Balance is releasing another themed pack of footwear this Thursday. The "Neo Flame" pack consists of Kawhi Leonard's OMN1S, an 850, and 997S. Each pair features a gradient orange and yellow upper with black overlays.

Nike LeBron 7 'Fairfax'

What You Need to Know: Originally a PE created for Fairfax High School in 2009, the "Fairfax" LeBron 7 is getting a retro release this Friday. The "Away" iteration pair features a black upper that mixes Flywire and patent leather, and is accented by bright hits of red and yellow to match the uniforms of the Los Angeles school.

Rhude x Puma SS20 Collection

Price: $130-$160
When: Saturday, March 7
Where: puma.com and other select retailers
What You Need to Know: Rhuigi Villaseñor's Rhude is releasing its second full collection in collaboration with Puma. Along with motorcross-inspired apparel, the range will also feature four matching footwear styles—the Cell King, Performer, Ralph Sampson Lo, and Alteration Nu.

Air Jordan 3 'UNC'

Price: $190
When: Saturday, March 7 at 10 a.m.
Where: Nike SNKRS and other select retailers
What You Need to Know: The latest Air Jordan 3 retro is an obvious nod to Michael Jordan's alma mater, the UNC Tar Heels. More specifically, it is inspired by a PE gifted to the Tar Heels football team back in 2017. The pair sports a white tumbled leather upper, elephant print wrapping the toe and heel, and Valor Blue detailing. An embroidered blue Jumpman on each tongue has been used in place of the UNC logos present on the coveted PE.
